Meet David Holmes, who took out a PLUS loan in order to help his daughter afford to go to college. “I’ve never won anything in my entire life. I’m still in disbelief. This money will definitely help me repay the PLUS loans I’ve taken out to support my daughter, and I’m so happy I could help her obtain an education, I am so proud of her. The attached picture was taken at the University of Arizona Parent’s Weekend in 2019 (canceled in 2020). We were both excited to see someone selling coconut drinks which reminded us of home in Hawaii.”

David’s Givling story: “I started playing Givling in early 2019. I broke my hip, some ribs, and my wrist on January 2 and was bed-bound for 3 months because of the injury. I never really played games on my phone before, but being stuck in bed I was bored and looking for things to do. I stumbled upon Givling, fell in love with the game and the thought of helping others with their student loans. I have been playing every day since. I never expected I would win. I hardly slept at all that night, I was so excited.”

“I work for the National Park Service. I’m currently working at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This is the 7th national park I’ve worked at. It’s been an incredible career working at the various national parks across the country and I feel very fortunate and proud of my public service. I have been living in Volcano Village on the Big Island of Hawaii for the last 8 years. I live about a mile from the rim of the Kilauea caldera. Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are not uncommon but I wouldn’t change a thing about where I live.” 🌋
