Everyone loves trivia. But not everyone is good at trivia. To level the playing field, each trivia player is teamed up with two anonymous players. The highest team score takes home the weekly trivia award. Trivia has never been this easy.
The real goal of the Givling community is to help crowdfund student loan and mortgage debt. Whoever earns the most Givling "Queue Points" enters the crowdfunding box, which means every one from that point forward is crowdfunding for that player. To add to the fun, we have simultaneous players entering the crowdfunding box weekly.
We understand that not everyone has the ability to crowdfund. Which is why we offer a variety of ways for the student loan community to play for free, including: two free trivia plays a day, free Queue Point spins, and participation in the Free$50K and Free$10K queue award games.
Thank You to Everyone!
I first want to thank everyone at Givling. Lizbeth, Seth and the entire team who make this wonderful Trivia/Crowdfunding App continue to grow every single day of the year.
Secondly, I want to thank each and every fellow member, who have and continue to support Givling’s growth. Your crowdfunding, trivia play, sponsor support and interaction with Givling, all make it thrive for the future.
I found Givling through searching on the internet for Student Loan Debt. The story of how Givling was started, and its mission to help those with Student Loan Debt, immediately had my attention to join, crowdfund and support it in whatever way I could.
Coming from a large family in the Midwest, it was understood that our higher education had to be paid for with a combination of loans and work while we were in school. During my four years in college, I worked three part time jobs, and took the maximum allowed financial aid loans available. When I finally paid off my loans, with the help of my husband, it was our goal that our children would never have to take out loans to pay for their college education.
Goals sometimes have to be readjusted with the passage of time. Flash forward to the present, and the cost of getting a degree is exponentially more than forty years ago. Now our last child is in college, and has had to take out her own loans to help pay for her education. With this funding from Givling, we will be able to financially help her to finish her degree, pay down her student loan debt, and truly look forward to her future.
My support of Givling will continue each and every day, and I am looking forward to helping more and more Givling members in the years to come.
Again, thank you to everyone from our entire family!
Hi Everyone!
I am very thankful to be in the funding spot! I found Givling years ago via a facebook ad before there was an app. I thought it was a great idea and was hopeful that it was the real thing as I have dealt with student loans and knew a lot of people who have had similar experiences. It has been great to watch the progress over the years.
I had decided to go away to college for my first few years to study Biology. I realized after two years that I would most likely need to go on to graduate school to be able to do anything I would want to do with a Biology degree and the amount of student loans for that short time period seemed overwhelming. I decided to transfer home to minimize the amount of loans. I went on to complete my biology degree, get a job in clinical research and go on to complete a master's degree in the field. I am currently working as research manager at a medical practice.
I was raised and currently reside in Queens, New York. I live here with my husband and two daughters. This funding will allow me to finish off my student loans and to be able to focus on saving more for the girls college funds so that they will not be burdened by loans like our generations have been.
I hope to see Givling continue to help others with all our support! Thanks to all Givling staff and all the players who make this all possible. I am looking forward to continuing to support Givling in the years to come. Thank you all again!
Coming Soon. Please bear with us as
First off, thank you to everyone on the Givling Team for everything you do. From the tech crew to FB bear to whoever makes the office coffee, thank you so much for working to help tackle the student loan crisis.
I'm pretty lucky-- I knew I wanted to be in broadcast news my sophomore year of high school, specifically a meteorologist. There was never a doubt in my mind what my career would be, but my parents never had a plan in place to pay for college. I was so naively confident it wouldn't be that much of a burden.I dove straight to the best journalism school for my first semester in college. I worked two jobs, one being at Taco Bell, with at full class load. One day, I watched my roommate write (like actually sign in front of me) a check for her full college tuition. I quickly realized there are two leagues of people. And I was going to fall into the group that was straddled with debt. Tied down to educational loans I had to take.
I transferred to a smaller, lesser known school to finish my schooling, this time working at a Wendys and McDonalds. It was the right call; this move enabled me to take my first job at a news station at 20 years old.My degrees are 100% necessary for my field. I don't regret my education; I love being able to talk about the weather every day. My dark rain cloud of student loan debt has been a daily stressor for years, and now the skies have cleared! From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the entire FFG!! Just keep spinning!
I went to college at the University of Idaho in Moscow ID. I got my degree in Interior Design and architecture in 2010. I started playing giving in August of 2018. When I graduated, I had just shy of $100,000 of student loan debt. I have been paying on my loans for 10 years, in that time I have gotten my private loans to go down, but watched my federal one go up because of interest. Same story as thousands of others I am sure.
Givling offered hope in a hopeless situation. I also looked at it as well I am at least helping others pay off theirs, that's got to be good karma right?! I actually really enjoy the Givling community and all the support and encouragement they offer.
So, I was doing my spins while drinking coffee on Friday morning and noticed that I was first in the purple queue. I took a screenshot and thought it was cool but kind of brushed it off. I didn't think it was possible at that point to maintain the position all day. When I actually made it I cried! I told my husband and we just hugged forever, it was honestly one of the best moments I have ever had. We all know that things are crazy right now with the current pandemic. I was extremely worried about how I was going to afford to pay bills in the coming months, as my work has been slowing down dramatically since the shutdown. This could not have come at a better time for me. This money will take care of my private loans then I will just be able to focus on the BIG federal one! I can see a light at the end of the tunnel now. After paying on my loans for a decade and watching the balance go up, I was frustrated and losing hope. This will help so much!
I just want to say how incredibly thankful I am to Givling, and the Givling community. So many days when I was feeling defeated, it was a place of positivity and hope. This truly is amazing, and I have made believers out of my family and friends.
