Damon Sellers of Alamada, CA, rang in the new year with the $10,000 award that will go to help pay off his student debt.
Sellers, an amateur standup comedian and self-proclaimed movie nerd, graduated from UCLA, and like so many others, has struggled with student loan debt. "My student loan debt is such an albatross around my neck."
About being award $10,000, Sellers said, "It still feels a little unreal. This rock of debt I’ve been stuck under since graduation feels lighter, and for the first time, it seems genuinely manageable."
