Kara Haney has been dreaming of being able to purchase her first house for a long time. After years of saving, this was the year she is “finally ready to own my own home. So thanks to Givling, I can finally do that,” she mentioned, as she’ll use this $5,000 award for a down payment.

Kara earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Southeast Missouri State University. She handles “inventory, inspections, equipment handling and I do all the landscaping for the 7 stores.”

She grew up in a single-parent household, where she learned at a young age the “disciplines and responsibilities” of being financially independent. When she’s not busy at work, she enjoys “golfing, hiking, traveling, going to breweries, and spending time at wineries with my friends.” She currently lives in Wentzville, located in “the most special place” to her: Missouri. There, you’ll also find the person that inspires her most: a 64-year-old woman named Kathy, who Kara says has “taught me so much about life,” and is the most “heartwarming, generous person I know.”
